2014 was a milestone for ABC when the group of companies Clemessy/ABC/Orys won an international tender to supply emergency diesel generating sets for various nuclear power plants of Electricité de France (EDF). Late last year, ABC was the first manufacturer in the world to fully pass the extremely rigorous qualification testing.
Now, again a year later and after a lot of hard work, the day finally arrived: on 28 November the first EDF emergency generating set left ABC to arrive 36 hours later at the nuclear power plant of Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux (department 41 Loir-et-Cher in the region Centre-Val de Loire). The delivery and placing of the first emergency generating set in the building went very smooth.
In the coming weeks, the emergency diesel generating set will be further installed to start earliest with a testing program. This first genset will also be tested more extensively than the following groups. The tests will take approximately 8 weeks.
Between December 2016 and the 2nd quarter of 2018 a total of 36 emergency diesel gensets will be installed at 11 different locations in France.
